Back in 2021, a small group appeared on the music scene, lead by and named after Jay Joseph. This band consisted of three members: lead singer and front-man Jay Joseph, drummer Jack Peterman, and bass player Jarrett Doherty.
The group received a massive boost in popularity and fame when they opened for the band Twenty One Pilots, for a number of nights on that band’s Takeover Tour. Following this, the group released an EP and an Album together.
Towards the end of 2021, the bass player, Jarrett, announced that he was forming a new group “Jady,” along with a drummer by the name of Ashton Bergdorf.
In 2022, Jady released their debut album, entitled “The Haze,” and launched listeners into a conceptual, lore-filled universe. The following year, their sophomore album, “Napalm” expanded upon this story, providing more context to the characters and world which had been previously introduced.
In this video, I will explore and unpack the story thus far, in an attempt to understand the deeper meaning behind it all – and to explain the significance of the imagery which accompanied these albums.
