This Was Fine, But Forgettable

“The Maze Runner” | Film Friday

I knew pretty much nothing about this movie going into it, just that it was based off of a series of young adult novels, and had a somewhat similar plot line to that of The Hunger Games (dystopian world, kids having to go through a series of life-threatening situations, etc.)

While this movie was similar to something like The Hunger Games, it did have a much more mysterious element to it, in that it was unclear what was going on, but clear that things were not all as they seemed.

However, I will say that once it was all finally reveled at the end of the movie, it seemed kinda anti-climatic – not as impressive of a conspiracy as it felt it should have been, given how much lead up to it there was.

But, to be fair, the final ending scene, which I assume sets up the rest of the series, did make it clear that it was not completely resolved, and the answers we had been given were not all correct.

But even during the bulk of the film, I felt like I was missing about half of what was going on, because everything was explained in the vaguest terms possible. Which actually made no sense from the perspective of the plot.
