Moriarty Should Have Continued Through Season 4 of “Sherlock”


The modern day, BBC produced retelling of the classic Sherlock Holmes stories by the great Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, was something of a cultural phenomenon during the years in which it aired, and presented a compelling rivalry between Sherlock Holmes and Moriarty.

Although there were many flaws in this adaptation, entitled “Sherlock,particularly in some of the changes made when bringing those stories to a modern day setting, the show as a whole is very well made and well worth watching for a number of reasons.

However, one thing that stood out to me on a recent re-watching of the show, was the narrative use of the antagonist, or “arc-enemy” who was always presented in antithesis to Sherlock.
