Why Oppenheimer Fell Short of Being Nolan’s Greatest Work

Oppenheimer was one of the biggest releases from 2023 and is, in my opinion, the best film of the year. It is a 3-hour long biopic, directed by Christopher Nolan, who is well know for films such as Inception, Interstellar, or the Dark Knight Trilogy.

This film boasts a star-studded cast, with Cillian Murphy taking the lead, joined by Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Casey Affleck, Matt Damon, Kenneth Branagh – and the list goes on.

Although a biopic, it is not what you would typically expect from the genre – it is very much made in Christopher Nolan’s signature style – namely, through non-linear story-telling.

I did have one somewhat major issue with the film, though.
